OK, 1/4" is too thick. I'm backing off to 3/16" thick for these guides.
I'm uploading two guides, which will slide up from the bottom of the reducer, and which will sit about 1" apart (maybe less, depends on how close or how wide you cut out the circles...). This will help keep the fins in better alignment, and should reduce the chances of getting one or more fins off-center, or even skewed, as can happen with a single guide.
Trim off the corners at the roots of the fins to keep them from getting glued in place...
Print these to either some 0.05" matteboard (makes a really stiff guide), or to a sheet of cardstock. Laminate the cardstock to a piece of matteboard, then cut through both layers inside the lines.
Don't force the fit; trim it out as needed with a sharp #11, or sand out the excess between the lines evenly.
