Here's some early GHS information to try and put into context where and what GHS was doing when up until he received the famous letter from Orv Carlisle. G. Harry was a very busy man wearing multiple hats. I hope you enjoy it.

1952 Robert (Bob) Carlisle (Former Navy aviator(in WW2)/Navy Reserve pilot) approaches his Brother Orv with the idea of a model rocket for use in his history of aviation presentation.

5/24/54 G. Harry Stine works at WSPG launching VIKING-11.
SUMMER 1954 "MISSILE AWAY" NEW MEXICO-WEST TEXAS Section MAGAZINE OF THE AMERICAN ROCKET SOCIETY: G. Harry Stine is on the Board of Editors for this magazine. It also shows that G. Harry was an ARS member before Summer 1954. He was the Secretary/Tresurer of the New Mexico-West Texas chapter of the ARS, the American Rocket Society.
8/30/54 Orv H. Carlisle applies for "Toy Rocket" Patent #2,841,084
Soon thereafters, Orv Carlisles starts Bal-Rock Industries to sell Rock-A-Chute.
10/54 Orv Carlisle approaches Lawrence Brown of Brown Manufacturing about marketing the Rock-A-Chute; Brown Declines. Carlisle approaches several other fireworks companies and all say no.

1/55 Orv Carlisle has developed the Carlisle Rock-A-Chute Mark-2
