Since the CC used a BT-50 as the core, you'll need a couple of CR-5055 rings at the top end. One ring right at the edge, and the second about 1/2" to 3/4" below that. Take a short length of BT-55, equal to the length of the AstroCam shoulder plus the distance between the rings (plus maybe 1/8" for good measure...), and slide this over the two rings until the bottom edge of the BT-55 is even with the lower ring. Now, take that shroud as printed on the plans, slide it up from the bottom until it fully touches the bottom of the BT-55, and simply trim away the excess. You don't need to re-engineer that shroud, just shorten it up. Probably not more than 1/4" of length. Now glue the shroud in place and add the fins, motor mount, recovery hardware, lugs, etc. Voila! Astrocam Carrier! |
