I like this for the same reasons. A ~1" diameter 2-stager on T motors is well suited for small field flying. I've come close to cooking up something like this before. Then I realized, I already had one - a Midget. Several, in fact
BTW, using your Rocksim file, I get a dv of 11.5ft/sec using the A3-4T as a sustainer. Altitude is less school-yard-friendly at 642', but it seems like a reasonable motor option, space permitting.
