I think the bottom of the inverted Y is flat as well. On the round pictured in Peter's ROTW (round 130) the transition between the second and third stages is black. It would make sense that the inverted Y ran into, and was flush with, the transition. It wouldn't make sense for it to have ended in a point just above the transition.
