Actually, the most over-produced (Or should that be under-sold) Estes models were anything from the Star Wars Episode 1 product line.

My understanding is that Estes asked LucasFilms to be released from their contract for that product line. LucasFilms was happy to do so. It only cost Estes $17 Million.

The money that went into the Star Wars product development and production was taken away from the NCRBE product line. Had NCRBE received that money the Orbit Starter Set and G70 and F62-9 Dark Star motors would have gone into production.
