The photo below shows the missing pylon and a ruler is provided for scale. The pods are vacuum formed so I was hoping someone either trashed theirs and I can get the pylons or maybe someone has the forms still that can be used to make new parts from. On my NCR Bomarc, the nacelles were each 2 halves of vacuum-formed plastic. The two halves incorporated the standoffs. Wood blocks were sandwiched between the halves, then glued to the surface of the BT.
This is the weakest point of the model. The joint would crack or get damaged every landing.
I pulled them off, cut thru-the-wall slits, extended new standoffs to where they extended thru the BT about 1/2 inch or so. Then I used triangle stock on both sides of the standoffs inside the BT, using 30 minute epoxy.
Very strong now. It looks and works great! It withstands landings well finally.
