Sprite online

We have just put the Sprite online. We are offering it as a free kit with all retail orders over $40 at least through the Memorial Day weekend.

The Sprite was always one of my favorites.
Back in the early 70's, we would launch one first to guage the wind conditions. It was always a good 'warm-up' to the day's other launches. It should be a mainstay of any serious rocket fleet!
Thanks, as always, Carl and the gang at Semroc!

This is one that I consider a classic. I'm pleased and surprised. Order coming up.

stefanj 05-21-2012 12:25 PM

I discovered the other day that I was out of Kevlar cord for shock-cord anchors.

Clearly, I need to order some more. If I end up getting $38 worth of other stuff, well, I'm MOSTLY sticking to my pledge to cut down a bit, right?

Mmmmm, free Sprite!

ECayemberg 05-21-2012 02:00 PM

On the way!

Went to place an order this morning and was happy to see the Sprite there!

Started adding items to the cart and noticed I could get a free Sprite!

What a deal! Free Sprite. Obey your thirst, order Semroc! Now I'm thirsty. :D

Hmmm. I think I'm going to order $40 - (cost of kevlar anchor cord) worth of Semroc beginner kits, to give out at Oroc club launches.

You know, for the kids.

The free Sprite, I'll keep for myself.

Nicely timed, Carl.

I don't think so!

We are trying to get the next group out in time for NARAM.

Thanks for the order!

The rocket building contest is simply fascinating to watch. I need to do a write-up of our experiences.

We have been looking forward to NARAM since the last one ended.

Your fault!

We see what people are ordering parts for and then release the kit. It's that mean streak I have. :chuckle:

In that vein, just what are those Semroc part numbers for that 1/45th Little Joe II clone? ;)

Order complete now that you have the upscale Draconian Marauder nosecones in stock! Looking forward to getting started on these models now... plus all the parts I ordered for a clone of the Der V3 should make an interesting diversion :D

One thing I noticed, though, is my final order list didn't include the Sprite. Not sure if that's because it was a saved order I wsa completing or if the Sprite isn't actually added to an order list.

Wow, Mark,
Your Sprite looks like it was dipped in liquid red plastic.

Gorgeous!

Here's a less-processed version of the photo:

The Astron Sprite was the second model rocket that I ever built (back in 1968). I got it for free in an order. Even though I only launched it once (and I did get it back) it was my absolute favorite of my "original five."

Flew my Semroc repro Sprite as the last flight of the monthly BEMRC launch today on a 1/2A3-2T. Worked just like it was supposed to. Thanks, Semroc, for bringing another good memory back! :)
