Looking for a CAN of Pactra Aero Gloss Cessna Green Dope
Like the title says, I'm looking for a Pint or Half-Pint can (8 or 16oz) of vintage Pactra Aero Gloss Cessna Green Dope. Looking for same in Silvaire Aluminium as well.
Always looking for ANY Quart Cans of Aero Gloss Dope in any color but Stearman Red. I have enough Stearman Red to paint an entire full-scale Stearman. |

But PT-13's are blue and yellow... :D |
A lot of civilian Stearman Biplanes are painted Stearman Red.

Still looking for CANS of original Pactra Aero Gloss in Cessna Green and Silvaire Aluminum. Also looking for Bendix Red in ANY container; 1oz bottles, 4oz jars, and ANY size Can. |

I can get modern Randolph dope from them or Brodak.
I'm looking for a vintage Pactra Aero Gloss CAN of the Cessna Green dope for a collection. Even an empty can will do but it has to be either a 8oz or 16oz can. I have it in 1oz and 4oz jars. I have enough of the small jars and spares to fill the can. |
I went to a hobby shop (Penn Valley in Lansdale PA) and they had entire wall in the free flight and RC section of Pactra Cans, large and small. The owner was a distributor as well as someone who bought the contents of hobby shops going out of buisiness so the place was overflowing, even into the basement of the store. Unfortunately the owners wife died then the owner a few years later and the shop closed so I don’t what happened to them.

I used to buy vintage kits from them. They were one of my favorite late night eBay stops. Ask my wife. Or our mailman. |

I bought craploads of OOP kits from Penn Valley via mailorder in the late 90's. That was before they discovered eBay and prices were unbelievably cheap. Some old timers here might remember Mack Yocum. He lived in Lansdale and knew the owner well. Mack owned Yocum Ford in Lansdale. He sold the business in 2016. |

New Mack well. Great guy. Was always impressed with his display cabinets full of vintage Estes kits. A couple of examples he shared -

I never met him in person but we talked and emailed all the time back then. Yes, he was a great guy. He suddenly disappeared around the mid 2000's and I haven't heard from him since. Same with Neal Tarassoff. Some members here may remember him. He, Mack and I were always helping each other out with our collections back in the day. I haven't heard from Neal in years now either. |

Yeah, me too. And parts as well. Some good Centuri parts. That was around 2010 through about 2014 or 2015 and then the listings just stopped. They use to list new stuff every Sunday night. I remember getting one of the two Centuri boxed LIA-100 wooden launchers from them. Earl |
That's a really cool collection and display of vintage kits, John !
