New Design: GunnStar Earth Defender or GED

Net been down lately for me and when it was working it has been very slow. Finally Fixed now.

With all the vintage "Bad Guy" designs like the Torellian Invader, Dragon Ship 7, and Alien Invader, I figured I had better come up with a few "Earth Defender" design to help make sure this planet will survive the next fifty years of model rocketry.

What I came up with is the below design called the GunnStar Earth Defender. This design is all about the one word and that word is FIREPOWER :chuckle: Count them if you must, and you will find 8 Ion laser Cannons  affixed to wings.

Before you even think about building this bird one "name" will come to mind and that name is "CARL", to laser cut out the 14 fins  on this bird. All Semroc Parts.

Enjoy and Thanks Again, JP.

I LOVE IT !!! :D :D :D

Great job James

Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking? I'm thinking KIT!!

VERY, very cool, James!

If this was turned into a kit, it might actually sell quite well up around here. After all, many of my neighbors seem to be in real need of GED's! :chuckle:

I would certainly like one! :D

Lots of WOW factor in that design, James! I agree, kit potential!

One thing to consider, though, is the landing on a 12" parachute. Those trailing probes are going to hit first if the recovery is 'traditional': HARD IMPACT.

I'd suggest a 16" or even a 20" (with spill) for this bird. The minimum would be a 14" if you could figure a way to recover flat (horizontal) instead.

Great design! Reminds me of a sister ship to the Estes Strikefighter. ;)
But GED?

Ok Bill you are right GED is out. How about GunnStar for short?

Shall we "Fire" up the next design which I am calling the WarpStar Earth Defender. Same basic body design here with the Slam Jett wing treatment. Not as much firepower her as this bird relies in speed of attack.
The Dv's for the C6-5 are almost 30 fps with the simulation and will most likely use an C6-3 from past experience from other designs. Cool design but way too complicated of a design to sim accurately. "Fire" All Semroc Parts. :D

At least it wasn't "WarpStar Universal Protector", then the initials would have been "WSUP"...:D

It's OK to be batty around here. BARCLONE makes for a good belfrey...

James, on your next canopy model, try the Siameese Nose Cone treatment, like you've seen me and Bill (RKT2K1) use.

"Havin' a B6-4, watchin' the game... An' you?"

Yeah, but watch out for that much-rumored Warped Mars Defender. (Go ahead - invade the dry, dusty red planet. But be prepared for a long stay...)

On another note...

So, James - has Alfred fixed all of your connectivity problems out at Stately Pierson Manor? ;)

Sure. Just slap a red star on it.

What's next? Rocket names that boil down to the acronyms ALEX. Or NEIL.

(I've been threatening for years to use "RSH 2112" as a registration number on rocket decals. ;) )

Cheers,

Cheers,

Okay, raise your hand if at some point in your life you had "2112" as your password for your ATM card.
Yeah. Twice. :o
