Estes Falcon 9 is on it's way :)

If it is like what was described here previously, it is not technically a "kit" in the classic sense, but an RTF.
Some people have taken to use the word "kit" interchangeably for "model" or "rocket" and it has always bothered me to hear a range announcer do that. Bill |

You have a good point. My email from Estes said kit in the header, but it looks like it’s not.
Thank you for bring that to my attention. Some are still saying that this rocket will be the finest RTF model ever produced. Guess we will find out soon:) |

149.99 for a RTF rocket just feels a little expensive….

How could it not be so? |
Maybe some plastic model manufacturer like a Revell or Tamiya will make one, and a PMC can be done on it (for a super realistic flying model). Otherwise Boyce Aerospace’s 3D builder’s kit is a decent alternative, and lower cost.

The route I decided to take is Tim Van Milligan's build, augmented by 3D printed parts from Galactic Manufacturing. Seems like an interesting build to me. https://www.apogeerockets.com/educa...wsletter523.pdf https://galacticmanufacturing.com/c...lcon-9-part-set |

Plus, if you open it and fly it, it's instantly worth only half of that, at best . . . Add in some "flight damage" and it's "game over" ! Dave F. |
