Estes #2001 Saturn V build

I'll be starting an Estes Saturn V from a vintage #2001 kit very soon.

Is there interest in a thread, or have you seen enough SV builds?

Naaaa, I'm too busy watching your other build!

Are you crazy?

$hit yeah! :D

Can't get enough of them.

I was just contemplating if I should do a build of one of my jets?

I would follow it also. Each time someone builds one of the monsters, I learn something.
I have always wanted to see one built with the engine bells Attached on the outsides, no cluster just one engine in the center.

I'm taking a break from the Black Star Voyager to start the SV--because it's EASIER!

I've broken the seal on a #2001 kit and inventoried and inspected the pieces. The box is a little beat up, but the contents are like factory-fresh! The decals aren't even yellowed. TBC

Just to mix things up a bit, I'm going to begin with the 3rd stage and higher.

For the 3rd stage recovery harness anchor loop I've epoxied a short length of 100# Kevlar into the bottom ring. This anchor will probably last until the next ice age! TBC

YEA! Do it!

The 2001 is by far our favorite of the Estes Saturns. We'll be building # 4 soon.

We are both wating to see your master piece.

Now the large cardstock rings. With the Kevlar loop over edge of the Corain slab to ensure flatness, I tamp the bottom ring into the coupler until it registers with the Corian and then epoxy it from the inside. After that resin sets, I flip it over and do the same for the top ring. TBC
