White Tiger #2040 Fin Pattern etc.
 

Does anyone have any scans of the White Tiger? Need fin pattern and body tube length and nose cone type. I have the decals but that is all. Any help would be great.

The 1991 catalog page is available at Ninfinger. You might fall foul of the Estes renumbering issues; going from 2040 to 2055 and thence the number being reused for the BLU-97B. The catalog calls for a total length of 22.5 inches on a 0.976 (BT-50) tube. The YORS references a PNC-50YR which can be had from Sirius Rocketry. I thnk it is about 3.6" to the shoulder. As for the fins...

I'll have to check, but I don't think my kit is open, so I'll have to see if I have some other nefarious means to come up with a fin pattern.

Might be a fin pattern shared with somethign else, too - Estes of the era was known fo rthat, releasing kits with reuse of fin patterns,etc to maximise usage of tooling.
If you have instructions sheets with a part # for the diecut sheet, might match up to another kit.

Could this possibly be the #1276 Antares fin?

My first thought was it looked very "Alpha", but thinking about the re-use of kit parts idea, the Alpha only came as a sheet of three, The Antares, however, came as a set of four.

This might also be the #1294 Cobra (same fin sheet, I think).

According to a part number search 032239 was used on Mean Machine and Stratocruiser. Both are in the current Estes Rockets media section as far as pdf is concerned. Which then gives us access to a model for which we do have scans,

I think I remember a similar thread concerning these fins, and it may include the #1955 Ranger.

I believe the Ranger was discused previously here on yorf, and was determined to use Vigilante fins ( also BT55 based ) .

Also the Comet used Vigilante fins.


if the part # quoted is what the White Tiger plans reference, I'd go with that, maybe build one up or at least mock up with a cardboard cutout and if it looks good ?

White Tiger was a very short lived, hence rare, kit.. I have to think they would have used that fin die over someplace, ( or got from a prior release ), although if the die was damaged, might be why it was only produced a short time ?

Now that you mention it, I think you're you're right. They're similar in shape, but not identical in size.
