Snark missile for PMC?

(moderators: this forum is where I am guessing plastic-model-conversion stuff belongs, otherwise please feel free to shuffle wherever)

Lindberg kit #91001 Snark missile in 1/48th scale
model kit makes a 17+ inch Snark missile, includes a launcher/trailer, a tow tractor, a service ladder, nine ground-crew figurines. Missile itself includes underwing fuel tanks and booster rockets for launch (remember those zero-length launchers?) Use it for a PMC project, or just build it as a regular plastic model kit for fun.

If you want to see what the kit looks like, try Google, or check out:

OK, so here's the point of this thread----does anyone want one? Cost for the kit itself would be $16 or less (the one I got today was $11) new-still-in-the-wrapper and I'm guessing shipping would be $8-10. There is a cheapo store up the street from me that had three more on the shelf when I left this afternoon, and I would be happy to run back up and look for them. First three posts on here get to the front of the line. (Don't all jump at once.)

Let me know--

And Happy New Year!

The "C" in PMC stands for CRASHER.
Usually due to not nearly enough initial thrust.
Use a Quest composite C or D with high thrust such as the C16, D18, or D20.
I like a good PMC; due to the fact they almost always POWR-PRANG.

Happy New Year, ALL. Dave can you tell us: is the Cheepo Store just a local store or a National Chain?
I know that Big Lots gets all kind of closed out models. have bought many different items over the years. I have even bought closed out Estes starter kits and engine flight packs at Big Lots. Big Lots was part of a group that included the long gone KB Toys. both stores were great source for all kinds of collectable toys and hobbies.

I don't know--

It's a store called Ollie's. I think it is some sort of chain/franchise but I have no idea where other stores might be, or if they get sent the same merchandise.

If you are thinking hard about getting one of these Snarks, I will be quite happy to look for one for you "just in case"

We have an Ollie's in Michigan about 15mi NNW of my hometown.

I recall seeing one or two of those converted some past NARAM(s). Do not recall seeing one fly straight. Just too weird of a layout. The kind of thing that you'd need 2-3 kits in order to test out one or two to see if the stability/thrust issues could be resolved.

In contest flying, I'd never go with that. Too risky yet not detailed/interesting enough to get a very good static score, all other things being equal. In real contest flying, if it crashes, it is disqualified.

Totally unlike TV "reality" rocket contests . Where the recent Xmas Tree thing, had a rocket pitch over hard and crash under power into the target, and "win" (and maybe 4 flights in the whole 3 episodes did not go unstable/crash as all the rest did).

I LIKED the TV Show with all the HPR POWR-PRANGS

I don't doubt it

I know the actual thing actually flew correctly (I have watched films) but the configuration DOES look like something I would want to stand well away from.

I thought the addition of clear plastic fins for improved stability was OK in PMC competition? Not so?

I have been to an Ollie's, with my sister . The Ollie's was in St. Clare Shores or Clinton Township?
No Ollie's here in South Florida. we have more than our share of Big Lot's and Hobby Lobby's.
We have a Hobby Lobby with in 10 miles in 5 directions of our home.

Even a Brick will fly: with enough thrust and weight forward of the center of gravity.
