IIRC the M-A was mentioned by name by Estes folks during vNARCON as the constant winner of their bring-back polls - I know that scale models were definitely mentioned. The “hints” for a SpaceX and/or Blue Origin rocket were pretty strong. I’m guessing that we’ll see whatever new scale models they have planned announced later this year like they’ve done with the Saturns and SLS the last few years. But that’s all speculation so we’ll have to wait and see... |
The Mars Snooper is definitely on my list. It’s a moderate upscale to BT-55 main tube, and it gets the correct motor mount — 24mm. (Both 18mm and 24mm were considered.) :)

Estes Mercury Atlas bring-back winner

Well, in regards to the Mercury Atlas being the constant bring-back winner, I received encouraging news from Initiator001 this week that Estes did another bring-back winner move in recently re-hiring Mr. Ron McClaren, the talented designer of the Estes Mercury Atlas, so looks like things are moving in the right direction for all of us Mercury Atlas fans out there! Looking forward to the return of the Mercury Atlas.
Definitely will be getting the upscaled Mars Snooper. Also looking forward to the mention of an upscaled Orbital Transport; hoping that one will be as large as the old Hawk's Hobby one with a BT-60 Booster and BT-55 Orbiter that will allow micro RC gear. Hopeful for a Gemini Titan of at least BT-70 size like the original K-21 or LARGER, not interested in the awful BT-60 sized body plastic abomination of the late 80's on that one. Mention of returning the C5-0 and a "higher powered" B engine very interesting too. Would like a D engine with real kick (port burner) like a D30. |

That *is* good news. He had recently been making comments and clearing up misconceptions on the various groups on Facebook. They need one or two people on the development staff that have some institutional memory. |
Totally agree that they should have went BT-60 sized lower tube on the upscale Mars Snooper.
An upscale should be a "Mega", not a minor upscale. |

Probably would’ve pushed it out of range for flying on adapted 18mm motors. |
I just updated the Estes Kit List. I'm surprised no one has talked about the following fact yet. Estes discontinued at least 23 kits!
