Here's mine. This is the full set which had been sealed in the bag as Carl had sent it to me. I had not opened it till now for the picture. I just let all the "Semroc Air" escape. Kurt Schachner would tease me about not wanting to open any of my old kits lest I let the Estes or Centuri air escape. :D

Like Scott, I just let the Semroc Air escape from the package. Never opened until now.
I really AM A SAM... my middle name is SAMuel. :D SAM was but one of MANY special things that Carl and Sheryl did for all of us LOONEY BARs here at YORF. They are/were truly a "once in a lifetime" privledge to get to experience. GOLD Standard business and people. |
I was Sam #50, but my tag is in one of storage bins...

Hokey Smokes, Bullwinkle! #1 ??????
I thought Buzz and Gordy were impressive. (Genuflecting in Bill's general direction) "I am not worthy, I am not worthy!" :) |
Very cool, Bill !

Comrades!
Found mine. It was still in the bag, but I had opened it years ago. I have used some of the decals on special rockets over the years. |

You've got the most important one. I've got the second most important one. #69 :D . |

Decals? I don't remember included decals. |
Quote:
Yup, go back and look at my and GH's post. |

That's awesome!--but I'm surprised Carl or Sheryl weren't #1. |
Quote:
RATS!! I don't think I got any stinking decals! (stomp, whine, stomp) |
Quote:
Yes, it is somewhat surprising, but I guess that is just another indication of who THEY thought was No.1: the customer. And that showed through in soooo many ways over the years. Earl |

I still have the decals as well, just in another folder.

Here's mine. I really enjoyed the discount on orders being both a SAM and a NAR member.

Earl, you all were #1 to us. I wish I remembered how the numbers were distributed. Brings back some wonderful memories. Thank you, everyone, for making those years so special to us. Sheryl |

No, thank YOU, Carl and Bruce! It was like a Golden Age back when you were operating. |

My two favorite ID's, forever connected next to my workbench. Thanks, Sheryl, Bruce, and especially Carl, for some of the most awesome fun of my life. :)

While searching I found these.
One of my favorites is the visitor badges from the MLAS launch at Wallops Island. Gus and Peter should have theirs too. |
Semroc Badge
Gordy --- now you've made me go digging around for MY "Sky of Gold" badge. It's around here somewhere, and I'd forgotten all about it. I should really keep it with the other Semroc goodies...
Out of curiosity - what is the leftmost Semroc badge in your set? I've seen the graphic before, but not used on an ID badge. Was it some kind of vendor ID at a Semroc-sponsored event? |
Cool badges, Gordy.

Hey, this is kinda fun! :D Let's all look up the Sky of Gold "stuff". Most of us are home. We all need more stuff to do. I have a box of Sky of Gold stuff. Let me take some pics. This is better than Netflix. I have another one! Let's see your NARAM 50 stuff. You guys knew you were saving it for a reason. This stuff is only good for showing off... here. :D Ya can't use it to impress your new girlfriend. |
Here's mine...

2008? Seems like yesterday. I missed NARAM 50 but got to play anyway!
Bob p.s. hmmm, this may be cooler than the SAM badge ;) |
What did you have to do to get one of these (either SAM or Sky of Gold)?
|
I for the life of me do not know where my SAM badge is, but I know where my Sky of Gold certificate is. I’ll try to make a photo of it soon. Yeah, really hard to believe that is coming up on 12 years ago.

Sky of Gold/NARAM 50

Can't seem to find the SAM Badge, but in order of appearance below:
Photo #1: Golden Scout #'s 62, 63 & 64 with a nice note from Sheryl on the Invoice telling me they started with #60. I'm assuming the first 59 went to various dignitaries. I bought 2 or 3 more after receiving these, which turned out to be a good thing because when I went to build one for NARAM 50, I couldn't find the box with these in it. Photo #2: Sky Of Gold and NARAM 50 badges and pin. Photo #3: Golden Scout #340 which I flew at NARAM 50 due to the aforementioned misplacement of lower numbered kits, along with the reproduction Scout give to NARAM attendees. The Certificate is in a file folder somewhere in this mess. Photo #4: Vintage Astron Skyhook signed by Vern at NARAM 50. |

Here's my Sky of Gold Scout (#215) and certificate.
Flown at NARAM-50. |

Ok, pulled out the Sky of Gold certificate and the Golden Scout. Mine was #372. I did not make it to NARAM-50, but flew mine at the local field I had then on a 1968 Estes 1/2A motor. Worked fine.
I'll have to do some more digging for my SAM badge. Gosh, the location on that just stumps me. Earl |
