Green Skill-Level Hang Tag Kit(s)
I'm trying to even out my meager Estes collection of skill-level hang tag bagged kits. I have a few yellow, pink, and blue kits, and one red kit. Seeking green kit(s), sealed.
I think these are all that were produced. I understand the relative scarcity and value between these kits, OT probably the most common, GT the rarest. Honest John Gemini-Titan Mars Snooper Mars Snooper II Nighthawk Orbital Transport SkyDart Trident Contact me via PM, thanks! -Paul |
I have six of those, but none for sale.

Hoarder! Come on, man! Spread the wealth!!! :D |
Here's a HoJo with a ratty hang tag. Looks like silverfish got to it.

I have a far smaller hoard than many on the forum, but most are valuable.
I have a green-tag Nighthawk and have seen those far less than the Gemini Titan actually. The Honest John and Orbital Transport kits are very common. |

Yeah, that Nighthawk does not come up on ebay very often at all. Earl |
I have a sealed green GT. I know I should clone it and sell it but I want to open it and build it. I wanted one and couldn't afford one in '73. It's for the nostalgia kick ... so there will be one less on the planet.

I don't think I have EVER seen a green skill-level packaged Nighthawk on ebay, but have seen the Gemini Titan.
Both were in that packaging only in 1973 I believe. In 1974 they were gone. The non skill-level packaging is far more common. I think there were two Nighthawks on ebay recently. There are VERY FEW kits I would trade my Nighthawk for. A boxed, sealed Enerjet Athena is one. |
by 73-74 I was into Drugs, Sex and Rock n Roll.....and street drag racing for money.....

I had no idea that the green skill level Nighthawk was that rare.. I've got two of them. Plus a 68 in just a sealed bag. I'm a sucker for boost gliders... The only Estes Nighthawk that I've seen recently on Ebay is an open kit being sold by goodrocks... |

Thanks to some folks here, and some fortuitous circumstances, I have a good start on this list. I'm in no hurry, and have been passing on ratty stuff. Don't expect to ever get a Gemini-Titan, so that probably puts the Mars Snooper II next in line. The search is half the fun!

The green skill-level K21 Gemini Titan is one of the rarest kits ever.
Tough to find and always pricey. Have not found one for a price I'm willing to pay. Ever. |
Got a steal on an Astron Sky Dart for around $80 maybe 1.5-2yrs ago.
Prices on most of the pre-1980 classics has ridiculously doubled over the past year. They'll come down again. |
That Sky Dart has been opened and some IDIOT put the face card back in UPSIDE-DOWN.
|
Nice price if it is a sealed kit but came that way from the factory???
|
No way.
It was opened |
If you want a cheap "builder" $65 is a good deal.
NIB Sky Dart IIs are going for ~$50 now. |
Thanks for pointing these out. The Nighthawk looks like it may have been opened, but not the SkyDart. I'd ask for more pics, but fortunately, I've acquired both these, and need to hunker down for a while. If sealed, that's a reasonable price for the Nighthawk, and a great price for the SkyDart.
|
I agree with GH. No way the Skydart is a factory sealed kit.
|
I'm doubtful about the Nighthawk as well.
It looks like scotch tape strips at the bottom of the bag |

Lol I know it seems crazy for the card to be upside down, but we really pride ourselves in accurately listing the condition of a kit. I have inspected that kit 4 times now and there are no tears , rips, slits, or tape on the plastic. The hang tag is crimped/sealed and fully intact. We even have a new sealed Mini Fat Boy from Hobby Lobby with the face card upside down. It is rare, but it can happen. - Steve |

Thanks, those aren't the Skill Level 4 kits I'm looking for at this time.
