New Estes Low Boom SST
3 Attachment(s)
Another great kit! Thanks so much, JumpJet. I’m having a blast building it.
Three times. Pictures attached. The downscale is 73% for BT50 with a 13mm motor. The upscale is 150% for a 24mm motor in Estes 2” body tube. The upscale will take a while to complete. I don’t have a laser cutter to cut plywood wings, and I think printed wings would be too flexible. |
Really cool!

Charles, very fun project! I havent ordered one yet, but its next on my list. :D

What size of plywood do you need cut? Mine can do up to 12"x18" and I usually cut 3mm (1/8") baltic birch plywood. 1/4" I can do but it's a stretch. |
I was only looking for 3mm. And 18" might work. I'll work up an AI file to make sure. Then we might need to do a little business.

Just opened mine the other night. Looks like a challenge. |
I think it's a little harder than a QCC explorer. Using little straight sticks to build out the engine pod framing was new to me - but I suspect old hat to airplane people.
I could have done a better job on the tailcone. The tail goes over the seam - so build it nicely. The scaled versions are vase-mode printed. |

About 5"x21". I can get it to 12x19" - but not 12x18 in one piece. |

Hm. I don't have any stock over 12"x18" right now. I have 12"x12" and 12"x18" and that's it. |
Menards in our area has 12x24" 3mm ply. I have one downstairs.
But my boy's high school with the laser cutter is closed :-( |
