Vintage Estes Cineroc movie

Hey folks, I'm a newbie to this forum, but I wanted to share a recent find. I came across an old 8mm film produced by Estes showing the prep and launch of a Cineroc, as well as several in-flight sequences. It's an interesting piece of vintage memorabila. I digitized the movie using my own video camera, so the quality isn't the greatest. Please also note that the video is a Windows Media file that is 24mb in size. The link may crap out if it's gotten too many requests, but it will recover, so please be patient. The link to the video is at the bottom and right side of the following page: Cineroc Page

Great web page (yep, that was me on TRF). Nice photos of the camera itself and nice videos. There's also some good stuff on the Camroc too... Camroc

Hi there! Yes, I googled for rocketry forums to post the video.

I am so glad that people have the means now to make historical bits like this available to the internet public-at-large. Back when this rocket was being sold, I don't know how I would have ever even seen that promotional film! Which begs the question: Does anyone know why this was made and how it was distributed? Was this actually a catalog item?

This is terrific. Thank you for sharing this rare information with us. The Cineroc has been a long time search for me as well. I am glad you had success and you posted it along with the video for others to view.

Thank You

The 1972 catalog offered a Cineroc film. I think it's the same thing:

Yep, looking at the box shot on the first site and the catalog page on your link, it appears the part number would indicate this is the regular 8mm film.

Had to fix the link to my Cineroc page above. It works now.

Lets see, in 1972 I was 11 years old. The price of $25.50 would have been a fortune to me then!
