Estes Goblin fin demensions please!

I'm looking to build an upscale Estes Goblin.
I've downloaded the plans but I'm not sure the fin sizes are (original sized) correct. Does anybody have the original (inch) dimensions for the root, leading and trailing edges? I'll then be able to muliply by my upscale factor (1.51) to get the new, bigger fin size at the correct scale.

Thanks!
HCMbanjo

Re: Goblin Fin Dim's-

The Root Edge is 2 1/32" long. I know because I have an unfinished Goblin sitting on my desk with one fin hanging on by a bit of BT 'skin'.

Leading Edge is 2 5/8" long. The 'Tip' surface is 1 15/32" long with the trailing edge 2 7/8" long.

Go for the Gusto! And Post Pictures, even of your build, if you can.

Thanks for the Goblin dimensions

Hi Glen!
Many thanks! The internet never ceases to amaze me. I will post pictures when finished, now I just have to order the parts. The model will be built around the Semroc (thick) 225 tubing.

Thanks,
HCMbanjo

Good luck with the build!

It's great to see the influx of "old" rocketeers we've had here in the past six months or so. It's a great way for us to keep the history of the hobby alive.

Glad to help out, HCMbanjo !

The ease of getting such questions answered on the internet makes the fees charged for connection well worth it! Of course, now the government wants to add taxes to those charges... But that's another thread entirely!

All the best of luck with that build. Helpful 'Old-Timers' hang around this place all the time, and are always ready to lend a hand.

And we thrive on seeing pictures of projects we have only dreamt of...

:D

By the way, I have attached the fin pattern someone recreated that I got off the 'net'. No clues as to the accuracy of such, but it beats nothing at all...

A little shameless advertising.
Hi I'm Loretta Hawkins from Hawks Hobby thought I would introduce myself and welcome ya to the forum.

If you're interested in a 225 tube up-scale of the Goblin do you know about or thought about our Super Goblin kit? By the way it's a 177% up-scale you're looking for. Ours comes with laser cut basswood fins, slotted tube, decals, balsa nose cone and interchangeable motor mount and a 24" rip-stop nylon chute.

See ya Later,
Loretta

Now Loretta....it's not a little shameless advertising.......it's a 177% upscale.... :D

Must say, I knew you had it but now I think I need to check it out... ;) (Yep, that coming from someone who still has the parts for the Trident clone in a bag.... )

I hope this new tax won't be like our gas tax!
