Terra Nova
So, anyone else find this new show to be cheesy with bad acting like me? About as big of a letdown as Falling Skies was.

I'd agree. I missed the first half hour but quickly figured out what was going on. The only thing I will hold out hope for is that it is the premier and perhaps the actors will start to mesh together more as the season progresses. Not too mention they seem to be a lot of new faces, though I don't watch much TV so most are new faces for me. Gonna watch the first few episodes and see how it goes.
I'm gonna say that the math-wiz daughter is gonna solve or figure something out with all the equations that guy is writing on the rocks. I did miss a little bit when the two 6'ers were at the rocks and talking about who was drawing the stuff and why. |
Big time! I watched about 5 minutes of it............all I could hack!

It's supposedly the missing son of the leader of group writing those equations. My guess is that he is figuring out a way to go back to the future or something. In the beginning of the show they made a point of saying that it's a one-way trip. But then the son of the main character was shown saying goodbye to his girlfriend before he walked through the portal. He told her he'd find a way to get back to her to bring her back in time with him. That's when she said it only works one-way. Lots of ripoffs from Lost with the 6'ers (the others) and the equations (things like the old statue and stuff on the island). |
Suspension of disbelief is possible. Suspension of taste is difficult. I suppose since Stephen Lang got himself killed off in the first Avatar and would be (logically) out of the bucks for the other two, he needed a crusty character to play to his strong suit. As for the rest it seems to be "One Tree Hill" meets "Land of the Lost".

I completely agree with you... The first feelings I had as I started watching the show was Lost like. And then the 6'ers came into the picture and I was like huh, seen that before. |

Those were the details I missed. So I will rephrase my guess: She is gonna hook up with the missing son, figure out the math involved, and then there will be a tense moment when he doesn't really want to go back anymore because he is in love with the math-wiz. |
Are there any Slee-Staks in the show ??
:chuckle: |

Heh, no. Just fake looking CGI dinosaurs. |
The show, produced by Brannon Braga, will pobably end up like his earlier attempt "Flashforward" and be cancelled before the end of the season.
