1997 Estes Star Wars offering
 

1997 Estes Star Wars offering was a Shuttle Tydirium and The Millennium Falcon Rocket models. I guess they never made it. Why? They have a stock number to them. EST 2148 and EST 2146.

The "Star Booster" on page 8 didn't make it either that year.

These 3 (Shuttle Tydirium, Star Booster, and Millenium Falcon) join the Cylon Raider and Cygnus Probe Ship as Estes Vaporware.

Interesting, but just as well, they would've required a goofy pod like the tie fighter. The X-Wing was the only kit that made a decent looking flying model.

I could have made the Cylon Raider fly.

I have thought of trying to do this someday...I wonder if it has been attemped before?

On the Cylon Raider, a clear plastic flight probe (using the clear plastic BT-50 nose cone and tubing from the [updated, Alpha III-like] Estes Phantom) would be as "officially invisible" as the clear plastic (acetate) fins on the 1960s-vintage Estes Thor-Agena B and Gemini-Titan II scale kits (and the clear styrene fins on their later Gemini-Titan II, Titan II ICBM, and MX ICBM kits). The clear plastic BT-50 tubing from the Phantom kit (I'm not sure if it was the same as the PST-50 clear plastic payload tubing) would need to be longer for a Cylon Raider, but it would work. Using a "tie-in" shock cord anchor would enable the probe to be washed periodically, to keep it "invisible."
