Wow, 125 views and no comments? Is the asking price too high or just not much interest in the kit?

That’s a good kit, and really interesting. I have one built if anyone has questions. Mine flew very well on a G64, pretty high. The price was too high for me to consider getting it as a backup.

Well, it’s more than I’m willing to pay - there’s no nostalgia value here for me, I just think it’s a neat rocket. Also, the Quasar NG was announced as a “bring-back” from NCR during NARCON (though no price was mentioned) so folks may be hesitant to commit to an NOS kit with a rerelease imminent...

In addition to it coming back, it's not hard to clone with standard parts and some vinyl decals.

It’s hard to do an exact clone, because it uses two Ace nosecones.

I still happen to have a few 4" ACE nose cones. ;)
If Estes would sell the Mega Max nose cone, it would be close...not as pointy, though.

I don’t know it for a fact, but the new Quasar NG will probably be based on the same 2.64” tube as all the current kits, not the 4” tube like this kit.

Reissuing it smaller instead of 4" is positively "NG".
Reissues should always be same size or LARGER.

Went back and rewatched the NARCON video - Matt Steele definitely said the Quasar bring back will be 4” along with the Phantom 4000 and the Brute.

He starts talking about the bring backs around the 53 minute mark - first the 2.6” Corporal, then he jumps to the new hard copy catalog, then back to the bring backs starting with the 4” Quasar, then the other two... https://youtu.be/j_jbcXleE3I
