Well I was planning on building either the orig. Estes Mars Lander or Estes A-20 Demon but things changed Sunday night. I am a Firefighter in the City of San Diego so I have been at work the last few days. I am at work now taking a little break and should be home this Sunday. You have all seen how big and devastating these fires are, this is why it is so hard to launch a model rocket in S. Calif. I do want to get back to normal life and model rocketry is the key to keeping me sane. I think I will start with the Estes A-20 Demon on Monday. Take care. Scigs30

Scigs30 -- Glad to hear you're OK. I noticed you hadn't been posting like you usually do and recalled that you were in SoCal, so I was beginning to wonder... I didn't guess you might actually be fighting the fires. Wow! Hope things calm down for you (and everyone else dealing with the fires and aftermath). Take care and good luck.

Hope you are OK in this go-round.

Scigs, I wish my dept could send a crew to help, but we just don't have the capability to send a crew across the country and still have enough manpower and equipment to take care of our own. I wish we could. I know several California depts sent fast water guys all the way to the east coast to help with the recent hurricane. I'd love to be able to return the favor. Stay safe.

Wow! I didn't know you were a Firefighter.
I was born and raised in California and am following the news.
Thanks for all you do and stay safe!

Thank you. Yes it has been another busy fire season, pretty much at work everyday, not much time to build. I am planning on retiring in 7 years and hope to build and fly more. Obviously with our year round fire risk flying rockets can be a challenge.
