Lots of discussion, but no bids. :-)
But, that's okay. I'm having fun using all this old stuff to learn more about the history of our hobby. I have more literature, including catalogs and magazines. Most of it we will sell on eBay (we'll be listing a collection of Model Rocket News issues on eBay this evening), but I'm going to keep some of the stuff. I'm mostly keeping items from the era when I started in rocketry (about 1973 to 1976) for nostalgic reasons. -- Roger Last edited by jadebox : 12-06-2009 at 06:45 PM. |

Are you referring to the circle of A's logo similar to what's on the front of the catalog?

Unfortunately, no. I do remember that there wasn't much to them. The three motor tubes were already assembled when shipped, and there were pencil marks on them to show where the fins and launch lugs went and how far into the upper tube they should extend. All in all, very efficient, but it left little need for explanations in the instructions... Sorry!

No, it's a red, white and blue shield with AAA Model Aviation Fuels on it. It was very cool looking.

interesting design, I recall that in the catalog, but never saw one in person before. We used to drive down to Als all the time for parts ( about 75 min from me ) , he has a ton of old odds and ends, Centuri kits, Canaroc goodies, all sorts of one -offs, including vintage Pro-Jet I motors from like 1977-78, etc. How big is that AAA shield logo for the finsw ? I may have one from a PA Crude or Lasersonics I'd send you , but those are rather small ( think 1" - I'll have to dig through the decal box ) . Love the sentry cone and how Al had purchased a huge pile of maxi brute cones ( wouldn't we like to have those now ? . we had one of his kits ( forget the name offhand, my bro had one ), that used the Super thick wall 3.5" tubing and top half only on the maxi Ho JO cone. for cone and boatail. my upscale Pathfinder is built from his 3.2 and BT80 tubing, using the shoulder ( lower half ) of the Maxi Ho Jo cone as transition. I see the sentry used the top of the Pershing cone, with Maxi HoJO base. I also remember Chuck Mund flew a A20 Demon upscale using the 3.2" tubing and the top of the Pershing cone at Static 1. Lot of great memories of Al and the old days ( I sound old .... Any plans for these kits would be great - I have some if anyone wants em ( Lasersonics 775,1.2, 1.2+, Nike Ram Magnum, PA Crude - need to dig that out, * kicks self into gear * ) . Anyone have one of the Nike-H kits ? can you confirm it's Nike Ram but with 4 fins, not 3, plus the 38mm mount ? I, and of course others are very interested in vintage high power ( would these now be mid-power ? ) . always looking for Ace, NCR or similar 80s HPR plans if anyone has any ~ AL ( not Andrake ) . |

OK, I can work with that. Man, that's going to be...interesting to do. Is that the whole decal for something? I can easily do the whole thing. OK, not easily.
