Default MLAS and the Fat Boys

Band name?

I had some finishing issues with the Quest MLAS and the result is a rocket to be admired from a distance.

The Fat Boy is a clone, 24 mm powered, bashed from a Mega Mosquito kit. Decals by Sandman.

Of course the Mega Mosquito kit came with a Mosquito kit as a bonus, and I couldn't let that go to waste, so... an MMX power Micro Fat Boy. Decals also by Sandman.

Here's the Fat Boys together.

Dupli-Color metallic red. It's actually not great for decals because it's not all that smooth a surface, so these decals silvered a little — maybe some combination of clear coating and wet sanding before decals could have fixed that, I don't know.

I dunno that MLAS looks pretty darn good! Now I will have to finish mine someday

The others are great too! Like the metallic paint espically. Yes clear coat would help with the decals a good deal, been there done that.

About the teeny tiny mini mosquito/ Fat boy clone, how did you get those decals? Its awesome!

Oh and you mentioned the Mega Mosquito I have one its a great flyer but thinking about building another with a cluster pack

Plus one to Ulterior Modem. Those look great. Also no shortage of creativity with the up and down scales.

Sandman: http://www.sandmandecals.com/ (formerly Excelsior Rocketry). He carries the Fat Boy decals in the standard size http://www.sandmandecals.com/product.php?id_product=814 but at my request he printed a set with the 5x downscale on the same sheet and sold me it at the same price. The guy's a treasure.

I just printed 2 more.

They aren't perfect but look good from 18" away.

Sorry, but that seems like the best the printers can do now.
