I thought those of you who are interested in the Estes E16/F15 motors might enjoy a post-flight picture of the nozzle end of the E16-6 motor I flew in my Semroc SLS Aero-Dart.

My log book (and the altimeter) is down in the car (I'm in a third floor room in Denver and going to bed soon) but as I recall it was on the order of 1700 feet. I'll download the data (Pnut) and post specifics after we get to Santa Fe tomorrow or the next day. Added: The actual value was 1407 feet (as reported by a PerfectFlite Pnut aboard). The same rocket flew to 1366 on a CTI F36 Blue Streak the day before (though that flight was angled out a bit more because of the winds).

I just wanted to thank everyone for coming to NSL. I really enjoyed talking with BEC and Initiator001. There was a third person from this forum that I spoke with for some time as well. He had a cool name but I simply can't think of it right now. I had a bunch of stuff to give away so these three got to take some of it home with them. Carl@Semroc and I had a fun time setting up the show models for everyone to view before the banquet. The food was great and the presentations by Bill Stine and Vern Estes will be remembered for years to come. All of the new Estes rocket stands seen in the photos below were given away at the Estes booth on Sunday. After the banquet I asked for volunteers to help pack up all the models in boxes so they can be stored for some future generation to view one day. There were plenty of volunteers to do the job. Thanks for all the help. Here are the images of models that were on display.

There was one more table full of old Estes Catalogs, Enerjet and FSI Motors as well but I neglected to take an image of it.

John,
Thanks so much for sharing the pictures. Can you give us a bit of history of the models? Were these primarily the models used for catalog pics? You mentioned getting them repacked after displaying them. Have these just been packed away for years in cardboard boxes? Finally, for those of us who weren't there, can you bring us up to date a bit on what new things were announced? Thanks again, John. Steve |
