Lost? How can you call it lost when you obviously didn't wade in and look for it?

Great photos Buzz; well done!!! Thanks for posting the pics for all to see; the first photos of my Magnum and Tarantula flights so far!
Really enjoyed many of your flights over the weekend! Thinking back, I think it was your Q-Modeling Stiletto flight where we were at the pads with you and the chute fouled. How did it fair; any damage? Hey now, what's wrong with the big pond? I didn't think it was so bad -Eric- |

Thanks Allen and Eric. It's a new camera and I was experimenting a lot with manual vs auto focus. Some shots came out blurry as a result, but I think I have the settings I want to use in the future worked out.
I'm embarrassed to say I forgot the chute completely on the QModeling Stiletto flight. I "thought" I had pulled the one I wanted form another rocket and installed, but missed it with everything going on. Luckily is suffered no damage at all *phew*. Eric, shoot me a PM letting me know which shots are of your rockets and I'll update the captions. Buzz

Oh, and the Big Icky wasn't bad because of the northerly wind all weekend. It's the SW breeze that brings on the lovely smell.

I really like your scheme on the Q Modeling Stilleto. I may have to use that as inspiration if I ever get around to building mine.
Great job!

Thanks Chas. I painted my original Estes Stiletto the same way. I don't often stray from stock paint schemes. I'm petty happy with how this one came out. Sorry I missed seeing you. I left Sunday evening. Maybe next year I'll compete.
Hey Eric, I didn't realize that was your Nike Tomahawk. I was prepping when it launched and missed getting photos, but watched the launch. Great flight!

Actually, I was not at NARAM. I skipped it this year as my only child had her first in late June in Northern Virginia. All is going well, but as first time parents they are not ready for company yet. I hope to get up to see them this fall and visit Udvar-Hazy to see the orbiter Discovery. My son-in-law's employer had their holiday party there last year. My daughter, Antares, really loves the SR-71.
I was stationed in Oscoda, MI 1979-83 and she built a Centuri Thunderhawk which thermaled away on its first flight. Before they left I presented her with the SEMROC clone which she flew and her husband Jay a Thunderchief. The first one he ever flew. This Buckeye is build his granddaughter's first model rocket: a clone of the Estes Antares. Plan on NARAM next year. I know the location, but it will be revealed tomorrow night. I love these 1,200 mile road trips.

Does anybody know who is leading NARAM 54? Is there a website that has launch reports or a podcast maybe? Thanks, Eli. NAR 94441. Level 1. SEMROC RULES!
