Default Project Daedalus

I have started a template for the Stargate ship Daedalus. Still a long way to go!

I was originally going to do this in cardstock. But, being so long and narrow, I am going to try it with foam core.

I designed it for 1/8" balsa, which I would prefer. But, I have a lot more foam core than balsa handy.

Here is a picture of the superstructure, BT-55 tube, and template of the upper deck. The only BT-55 I have is about 2" short. So, I'll have to extend the engine case and use a slightly longer nose cone to make up for it.

Oops!

Got to looking and realized it is a BT-50 tube. Since I didn't have a nose cone for it, I just ordered a new BT-50 tube and nose cone. Semroc didn't have the nose cone I wanted in a BNC-50 size so I settled for the BNC-50J.

Got the upper deck ready today. It includes some detail to cut out and glue on after it is installed.

As heavy as this is turning out, with foam core, I may have to go with "D" engines.
