very Sharp eyes! I keep the bottles inverted to prevent the carrier from drying out. The pigment still separates over time but never loses the carrier so it can be quite easily re-mixed.

There seems to be a tube batch issue. John, has the Euclid transition concluded?

I don't know.

I've noticed for the past couple years that the tubes are getting a little thinner. I personaly don't care for the white tubes since they appear to be thinner then the brown tubes and don't appear to have as nice a finish on them. I can only assume every rocket company out there is seeing the same thing since as far as I know everyone gets them from the same place. If you know of another suppplier of paper tubes, let me know, so I can get some samples.

I have a scratch build I made some years ago that is similar. It does'nt have the pods or forward fins.Because it was designed for C or D power the fins are large and it has a streamer. The surprise was the fins are big enough to glide the body tube and pull the streamer behind it. Now when I say "glide" I am using the term loosely. This could be used for a rocket that the top half is steamer recovery and the bottom glides. It would take some work on fin size, placement, body tube length, ect. but I think it could work.

John, What is wrong with just going back to the Brown tubes? They still appear to be thick and much sturdier than the white tubes. I agree that the white tubes are too thin and tough to get a good finish. The Estes Brown tubes don't have the deep spirals that the white tubes have.

Changing over to brown tubes would be a great deal of work. If I could go in tomorrow and say all white tubes will now be brown I would, but this would require many different people to get involved to change things over and I can't see that happening any time soon.

What I am doing is trying to use as many brown tubes in my designs as possible and when ever I create a new tube it is brown.

We had two at the SoAR launch yesterday. One painted, one bare. Both flew nicely, though one had a hangup with the shroud lines (probably a good thing, with the wind yesterday going across the short side of the field.)
