For the most part, yes. You, James, and now Chris, have contributed quite a few designs to that number. I've actually got a bit to catch up, posting everyone's stuff to BARCLONE. Scott has an update to YORS and YORP scheduled ahead of BARCLONE, and I've still got an Extended Kit List update to finish as soon as YORP is done, meaning there are still a few that haven't been sent up to the site yet. We've had a bit of an explosion in designs this past year, which is why I was so excited. I'm still trying to put together a catalog of all our designs, trying to make it look like some of the catalogs of the past. The new BARCLONE catalog has as many designs in it as a mid-1970's Estes catalog, which sends a tingle down my spine thinking about it. My secret dream is one day taking BARCLONE into the kit business, and all of these designs give me a lot to choose from. It is just a dream right now, however...

Jay, Just substitute 2 CPK-12s for that single CPK-16... Here's the pattern for the paper reducer... (Be sure to check the size and let me know. I'm basing this on what RS said about the diameter of the large tube...)

New Design: Hammer Head
Somewhat of a strange design, but the ramjet head seem to work ok as far as preformance.
I aslo really like this fin shape however it is not very practical, especially during a hard landing. Thanks Again and Enjoy, JP James Pierson NAR# 77907 Last edited by James Pierson : 04-26-2006 at 11:19 PM. |

James, Try limiting this one to just 13mm A3-4T motors, and I think you'll find it has more than enough performance. I just simmed it to 414', with a Dv of 4.2 FPS. That's fully 100' better than the Quest A6 gets. The 1/2A3-2T gets you to 144', with a Dv of 24 FPS. High, but still acceptable. Also, try using a 10" parachute to recover with. With the reduced motor weight, you can afford to reduce the nose weight a little. A 10" will fit inside that BT-20 a little looser than the full 12". This fin pattern might be another that could benefit from some of Carl's laser-cut paper fins, using his centering ring material. With paper fins, the Dv on the A3-4T drops to 2 FPS. With the 13mm motor, this qualifies for "Schoolyard Sounder" status... Keep up the great design work!

New Design: Cosmic Dart
Craig, it sounds like you have already tweaked a mini version of the Hammer Head so by all means please post it. And thanks for the tweaking.
Here is another design I call the Cosmic Dart. Playing with transition in Rocksim can sometimes be painful. Enjoy and thanks Again, JP James Pierson NAR#77907 |

New Design: Stellar Starfighter
This one kinda looks like a Scorpius slammed into Interceptor. And as Forest Gump once said " That bout all I have to say bout that"
