plastic nose cone question
I need to strip the paint off of an Estes plastic nose cone. will brake fluid hurt the cone? thanks

The nose cone is probably polystyrene. Try the brake fluid on a piece of plastic sprue from any styrene kit. My gut feeling is that yes, the brake fluid will mar the nose cone.

decided to try mineral spirits & acetone, that got all the paint off.

That Super Clean from Walmart works great - I use it to strip chrome off parts too. Use protective gloves!!

I've used brake fluid before on model car parts. Don't use brake fluid!

okay, I didn't . and for anyone else out there considering it, leave it as a last resort for the really oddball paint that nothing else will touch.
