Default Color Shifting Paint

There is a VW Beatle (new) near where I live that has color shifting paint. From one direction it is metallic bronze, and from the other it is metallic purple, a neat effect. Now if I were to do this on a rocket, say a Big Bertha, how would it be done?

It has to be done with special (expensive) urethane paint systems.
The base over the primer is usually silver or gold, then topcoated with one of the special pigment coats offered by "House Of Kolor" in their 'flip flop/chameleon' line of paints.
At one time a hobby rattle can system was offered in a joint venture by one of the hobby paint companies and House Of Kolor, but I have not seen it in years.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Fixed that for ya! Those pearlescent paint jobs often cost more than the cars themselves are worth, even without a lot of prep work.

That would make a good paint job on a getaway car.

Look for "pearlescent paints"...

Probably a good idea to look that up on your favorite search engine and see what you can find... (or youtube).

Later and good luck! OL JR

This stuff works pretty well. They have two different color combos, can't seem to find the other one. This is a good price for it too, usually a bit over twenty bucks per kit.

So does the shifting of the color is in the paint? There are pearlescent paints like Createx but I don't know if the effect will be the same by using these paints.

In the "customers who viewed this item also viewed" list on that Amazon page it appears Rustoleum has something like this as well.
