Hilarious Big Bang Theory SV explosion
Tonight's Big Bang Theory episode featured an Estes #2001 Saturn V.
It blew up on the launch pad in spectacular fashion. The only thing funnier would have been a POWR -PRANGGGGG.

They also had the Alpha III, Mercury Redstone and some RTF kit on the show.
I don't think the USS Enterprise was the Estes flying version, but it was about the right size. If it was, they covered up the groove for the "recovery probe". The Space-X Falcon may or may not have been the flying version. There have been several 4" Phoenix missile kits and I couldn't tell if this was ever a flying version (never saw the business end). Anybody recognize what the green transition with grey fins was from?

One of the rockets on this episode looked like a Dr.Zooch Saturn 1 of some type.

Near the beginning when Sheldon was getting excited about Howard having a Saturn V kit in the box, wasn't there already an assembled Saturn V on the bench near him? I thought I saw that when I watched it.
I guess I could watch the episode again to check ..... -- Roger |

Yes, there was a smaller Saturn V on the table.
Prop guys not paying attention to the script? * * * I'm kind of ticked at the explosion bit. Why should Howard feel bad about a random motor malfunction, when he successfully put together a decent-looking Saturn?
