Default Blade Runner, the movie

I'm watching Blade Runner on Sy Fy. (watched ST,TNG off and on all day)
I saw this when it came out, I watched this again as a rental in mid -80's, once more in the mid 90's and now, tonight. I don't get it. This movie does not make sense, none of it.
What was Harrison Ford thinking when he decided to make this thing? It is slow, uninteresting as heck, can you say boring, the SPX stink, then and now, what did Ebert and dead partner give this for a rating? Great cast, stupid movie!

Your opinion?

My opinion? Hmmm, you've watched it three times. That's two more than I have. I'd say you like it a heckuva lot more than I do

But I do like Rutger Hauer. His approach to conquering English, to assimilating himself into American society, sets the bar for everyone else.

I did watch it on cable in the early 80's, 1983 to be more precise. (I don't remember the year as much as the girl I watched it with.) I found my attention wandering almost from the start and could never get into it at all. Sci Fi for me kinda begins and ends with the Centuri Super Kits, Estes Andromeda and Interceptor.

It must have been a pay cable movie channel, the movie came out in 1982.

I like those kits!

Nope, pretty sure it was Cinemax. I was pretty jazzed about the movie until it started. I dated the girl from June to January, and this was October/November. Pretty sure it made a quick run to cable. I don't remember it being around in the theaters very long.

really?

movie is a classic. Only bad part is the narration which Harrison didn't like.

Movie made complete sense and the story line was easy to follow.

I saw the movie in the theatre when it first came out. Unfortunately, I cannot remember that far back in my life.....

Blade Runner was a groundbreaking and influential movie. The roots of "cyberpunk" science fiction, mixing grittiness and high tech, wind deep in it. The visual look n' feel were mind-blowing at the time.

The non-narrated versions leave more to the viewer, but are more complete and don't have the tacked on happy ending.

It's a really violent and dark film. No real heroes. I can understand why that would turn folks off. I didn't like it the first few times I watched it.

Hmm. Blade Runner was also the first film based on a Philp K. Dick story. (Since then: Total Recall, The Adjustment Bureau, Minority Report, A Scanner Darkly, Paycheck.)
