Anyone else get their start with this bird? I've only had this one for ten years and just finished paint and decal work today.

They didn't sell it in the lace curtain neighborhoods in Michigan.

Bill,

It wasn't my first model rocket; built one from that set back in the 70s.

The water based glue included was great also; it was sandable!

That was a neat set btw. Occasionally one shows up on e bay, usually incomplete.

Bob

It wasn't my first rocket but I built one early on as a kid, along with the tissue covered rubber powered plane. I still have the eftover stickers from that set, and have a mostly complete set I picked up few years ago.

Yours is nice!

What size is the body tube? I think I have the nose cone from mine around somewhere and it didn’t fit any Estes BT size.

It wasn’t my first rocket - that was an MPC Pioneer - I did have one though I don’t recall it looking quite as good as the one you built Bill. My Lab Set would’ve been the version sold through Radio Shack in the early 70s and it did have the first stick and tissue model plane I ever built. Err, make that finish - there were more than one I started…😆

ST-7 Centuri tubing seems to be the popular opinion.
