New Estes Releases Spring/Summer 2011
Here are pics of the new kits. The Dark Energy rocket looks like it's reusing a cone from one of the old exotic Estes kits from years ago. The name of the kit is at the tip of my tongue. I'm sure one of you guys will recognize it.

That's the one! I wonder what other molds they have laying around there for specialized plastic parts? Sandhawk? Saros/Nomad? LTV Scout? Rigel 3?

Most excellent. That cone is used in several old models and is virtually impossible to clone. There is a different one used as a nose cone in one kit and enclosed in a clear payload section in another whose names escape me at the moment that would also be nice to have reissued. Bill |

Heh, forgot Rigel 3 uses the same cone. So, an Odyssey and a Rigel 3 could be cloned. (or Estes could re-release them.)

I can't think of the clear payload section one offhand, but another with that nosecone is the Rigel-3. http://www.ninfinger.org/rockets/ca...82/82est38.html Edit: LOL....looks like you remembered the second one before I got around to hitting the reply button. .

The lower transition / payload section was also used as the nose cone for the SDI Satellite kit....
