TOTAL lack of credible physical/direct evidence, zero established motive AT ALL, and a total lack of witnesses.

What IS hard to understand is how ANYONE could be clueless enough to expect any sort of a conviction here.

The prosecution did NOT prove it's case beyond any reasonable doubt, and correctly so the jury had NO CHOICE but to issue an acquittal.

When in doubt, the accused MUST walk, EVERY TIME !

That's the only reason this case was as big as it was - because the media latched onto it and convicted the woman in the public's eye before the trial even started. So called "journalists" like Nancy Grace make me nauseous.

Then you better not be the first person the police look at while investigating a crime. Skin color be darned - the first person the police name as a suspect is ALWAYS the guilty party, right? After all - the police NEVER make mistakes in an investigation, right? (VERY HEAVY NOTE OF SARCASM HERE!!!)

I trust most local police about a half-hair's width more than the average street criminal.
Most local cops I have ever dealt with that are young are nothing but punks on a power trip.
They generally don't last; the sheriff deputies are little better.
The Michigan State Police are a totally different breed. I have found all of them to be honest hard working men and women really looking to make a difference. They tend to be reasonable and don't tend to be out to trump up any BS on anyone. No nonsense attitudes, but they don't play any roscoe p. coltraine baloney either.
Your state police may differ; the buckeye state directly beneath us is full of nothing but yahoos looking to give tourists 4mph over tickets. The OHP has to be the absolute worst bunch of yahoos in the country.
