Default My excuse for slacking on my builds

So, back in 2016, I got the urge to build all the Estes K-kits. I mean, what self-respecting cloner, scratch-builder, BAR wouldn't get such an idea?

I started, and through lots of diligence, got all the way to K-9, the Spaceman . Then, I stopped posting. In fact, my records show that I didn't do much building since then until this year. But, there was a reason.

I overflowed my build space, so needed more space.

I went into the basement, and constructed a room for my hobbies. Of course, I went overboard. The inside of the door couldn't just be a door. I had to build it from scratch, and give it meaning.

And illumination.

And, of course, I needed a closet. A wine closet.

A wine closet that looks like it is from a Cask of Amontillado.

This room took much longer than it should have. And, I went overboard in other places of the basement, but those are for my beer-making, wine-making, and woodwork-making, so they only get a brief mention.

But, the upshot of this is that I am now building rockets again.

Oh yeah, the room has built-in ducting for laser cutting. That was one of the important parts.

And, for the very attentive, on the left side of the photo is a hidden bookcase that is actually a pocket door. Right next to that pocket door is a tiny, tiny statue of William Shakespeare. It is a scale model (that I bought) of old Bill, and his head tips back, so that when you press down, it activates a button that one day, will activate the pocket door. But, that is an electromechanical project that I'm saving for the days when I'm bored.

I hop you see two Bat-Poles when the door is activated.
