Default Finishing the Conquest.

My Estes Conquest #7230 is in white primer and ready for top coats. A TOUGH build (the tail pod especially)--very refreshing!

Question is: should the undersides of the large wings be white? I can't quite tell from the few available photos.

Thanks!

Yes, Jeff, I believe they are, as are the 2 bombs and bomb standoffs and horizontal stabilizers. I used A LOT of tape for mine, painting the blue over the white. When I can find my camera, I'll post a pic.
Have not clear-coated with Pledge, yet, but the decals are on.
Painted the nozzle chrome silver (Duplicolor) then brushed on Pledge to seal it, so I could handle it without smudging. Epoxied it on last as I epoxied the engine mount in at the same time.

Thanks! "The Vixen" will mask it out tonight.

YES, everything was painted white on the bottom side of my prototype. The top is painted French Blue color.

Thanks John.

.....and I guessed correctly about the French blue.

Here you go, Jeff. I used the Rustoleum American Accents Deep Blue and Gloss White.
Tamiya tape for separation; 3m blue tape for the rest.
It was a pain to tape up, but it was worth it.
A nice kit, to be sure. I enjoyed the build immensely!
Also, I painted the inside of the intakes black so they looked open on the inside...

That came out just fine. A fine model deserves a great paint job!

Very nice build! That's a nice shade of blue you used, but I'm going with the French blue because I happen to have an almost full can of it in Testors Model Master.

"The Vixen" just spent the last (2) hours taping it out. What a trooper!

Is VV a Norwegian Forest Cat?

Jetlag,

Nice build!

Where did you get the rocket stand?

Those are rocket stands designed by Tom at Q-Modeling. I have to give him kudos for the design, though I cut my own. Have to anyway, since The Q has been down since their big flood took out their buildings.
I really like his kits, too.

Thanks for the compliment on the Conquest! I like aircrafty rockets! I hope she flies as nicely as she built!
