Ok , how insane would it be to put a few MMX moters in the spin rockets . On a maxi brute .
I could run copper tape up the sides , make little contacters with the nose . And have them ignite along with the main moter...
I know there would be ugly igniters probally hanging on the nose , but ill bet i tcould get it to spin .

Or just cant the fins 5 degrees , but what fun would that be

I think the mmx motors would be great - go for it

Default Spin rockets

I think 2 would do , I have some micro tube I could make sockets for the mmx igniters , so it should shed them the only technical problem i see is if the mmx moters fire to quickley , the spin may bind it on the rod , I plan on using an e20 or so to lift it .
It would just be so cool to see smoke coming from the spin rockets .
I had thought of some sort of smoke chamber ducted to the spin rockets.

So another sick idea with MMX was to make an escape tower fire and pull the capsule off of a LJ , but they melted any form of ducting i made out of brass

Look for Dan Michael's HPR HoJo on YouTube. He had spin rockets on his (I have no idea what impulse) and it resulted in some form of cork-screwing.

What might be good is to do some research (perhaps ROTW) to see what the spin motor thrust to main motor thrust ratio was, and compare that to its mass. On the real thing, those little spin motors had quite the job to do to get that dead weight rotating.

My main concern is what would happen if one of the spin motors failed to ignite.

It might be worth looking into a single MMX and having some sort of common exhaust chamber with ducts leading out to the spin motors to vent the expanding gas. That would minimize concerns of asymmetrical torsional thrust. Since you are flying this with AP, you either need an "instant on" igniter for it, or you will need some kind of delay for the BP firing circuit while the AP motor is coming up to full pressure.

There are a lot of challenges at this scale, but if this works, it's very cool.

The real rocket have a 5 degree cant to the fins along with the spin rockets , but still getting that lunker rotating was a challange .
I experemented with Ducting mmx moters , and i cant construct anything they wont melt .
I would use BP in it , but i fear it is getting to heavy for BP so thats why an e20 is probally what ill use

Have you tried using this?
