Exclamation Earthlink, begone!

For the one or two of you who might possibly be interested...

The 21st century has finally arrived at my house, and I now have high-speed internet through my telephone company.

As a result, my 7 1/2 year old dialup account with Earthlink has ceased to exist, along with my "Downbelow Station" webpage and the associated "@earthlink.net" e-mail addresses.

I've already sent out a "change of address" e-mail to all of the rocketeer folks who I have current e-mail addresses for.

FYI, thanks, and cheers,
.

It's been just over seven years since I got myself a cable modem hook-up as a birthday present. What a difference!

I hope you were able to FTP those web page files back to your home computer before losing access to them! I've had to move my website a few times in the past, and doing a regular backup was often an afterthought...

In fairness twsited pair connection and fast ethernet were a 20th Century thing. He is catching up. Besides, we all run to twisted pair somewhere; even if it is only the little cable to the house interface.

So you've been on dial-up all this time?

You're only 11 years late!

I got my DSL through Earthlink in mid 2000, though I stayed at 1.5mb way too long, getting 12mb AT&T U-verse last year. (and my laptop is occasionally on 40gb T-Mobile 4G)

Craig,

I still have all of the original pages on my hard drive.
