Body Tube ??
I have a kit that the body tube is soft on and I want to replace it before I build it. I found the proper diameter tube I need, but it will need to be cut down to get the desired lenght. Is that an issue and any preferred technique ?

Mark the length you need on the new tube, wrap the tube a few times with masking tape at your mark to give you a guide, and then cut along the tape with your knife to cut the tube. Don't try and cut all the way through on your first pass, let the knife do the work. You;ll get a nice clean edge that way.

Had to repair the Tomahawk tonight which required some body tube removal. Your method worked great and didnt even chip the already painted surface. The brand new tube will be cake to trim down, thanks.

If the body tubes are the standard Estes sized, their new tube cutting guides work extremely well. I have used them to cut a BT55 tube to a length I needed.

I wouold suggest the "blue" paitners tape instead of the regular masking tape.
