Default 4/20/08 Launch Tomahawk!

Late sunday afternoon i launchede my small bt-20 estes rocket...forgot the name of it. Also launched my scratch built Astron Cobra and scratch built D-Region Tomahawk.

I lost the bt-20 rocket.
I launched the Cobra on 3 c-6's. The flight went well but at ejection it ripped the shock cord right out. The booster end tumbled back to the ground softly and the payload section was lowered by parachute. Pretty neat how that worked out. hah.

I launched the Tomahawk on an E9. That was a very awesome flight and the largest motor ive used yet. It was flawless.

Here are some pics at the launch pad (My rigged pad)

Glad you got it back with no other damage.

Which C6's did you use? C6-5's or C6-7's? I suspect you had too short of delay and got a high speed deployment. (Or you simply didn't have it anchored well enough to start with )

Nice pics. The Cobra looks great.

Yeah, think about it - you flew a Cobra on an E motor (E18 equivalent) with a 5 second delay. A little more delay would likely have avoided the shock cord rip out. With C6-7's, you're in much better shape. And even if one doesn't light, it's still the equivalent of a D12-7, with which a 7 second delay is maybe a hair long, but not too long.
