My kit came with 2 sheets of 3/32 balsa and the plans call for 2 sheets of BFS-30.

I think only the Avengers prior to the pink "skill level" packaging had different thickness fins. My original beat-up one was pre-skill level packaging and has the thicker fins on the booster only. My NIB pink skill level Avenger has the fins of same thickness.

The primer is on and next day off I will shoot a coat of Krylon Glossy White and Silver. I will also paint the nose red. I brushed on 3 coats of balsa sealer to the balsa parts, 2 coats of primer and 1 coat of flat white. I am still stuck on what to do about the upper body tube stripes. I cannot tell if that is a decal or black stripes from a Estes decal sheet. Any help would be appreciated.

I've no idea what Estes did originally ... I created my own roll pattern (files are attached further upthread). Sandman also noted upthread that he's updated Excelsior's Avenger decals.

I think it came from one of Estes's stripe decal sheets. So you can order (or make) a full roll pattern (which is what I did for my clone), hunt down a stripe decal sheet from somewhere, or you can paint it on (which is what I did on my Astron Ranger clone). You're pretty good with your masking tape so I think you could pull that off

I have an Avenger clone I built a long time ago and painted it like the cover art...which I don't like.

I may have to print myself a set and post a pic.
