Titan IIIe SRB nose cones (Sandman 1+)
My first order from sandman. They look great. Came quick. Very affordable.
Now I just have to re-grow some budget for decals. Thanks Gordon!

Around 1/73 That is the size of the OOP Estes Titan IIIE kit he is cloning. aeppel_cpm, just in case you do not already have the payload section, it is available in the large TARC parts assortment from Estes. Bill

120 inch (ten feet) diameter of SRB's/Titan core on Titan III/IV vehicles, 1.637 diameter of BT-60 tube... 120/1.637= 1/73.3 scale... Later! OL JR

Yes, I picked up the big TARC collection this winter while getting a bunch of on-sale kits. Thanks for the tip.

I don't remember the SRB's of the 1:73 Titan III being that large. I thought they were BT55.

Dunno about the kit-- never had one... But the real thing, the SRM's were 10 feet in diameter, as was the Titan core vehicle... so they'd all be the same size. Later! OL JR

They are or were indeed BT-60's. I have originals I patterned them on.
As a matter of fact... I just happen to have another Titan III order going out tomorrow. This time he wanted everything except the main nose cone and transition. The Thrust Vector Control tank nose and tail cone. The SRB cones. And the SRB flairs...Now those were very hard to do. The Thrust Vector Control tank tubes are just to hold the parts up for the picture. The same with the BT-50 tube inside the SRB tail flairs. Just to keep the parts from rolling off the desk. The flairs are a tiny bit long yet. I have some detail work to do yet. The tail flairs were a real challenge but actually once I got started all the parts were pretty easy...for me anyway. Each flair took me about an hour to do.
