Retro Bench
There is not much to do here in Frozen Montana this time of year except build rockets. Here are this weeks projects - Original Centuri Payloader II that was in real bad shape. I skinned the motor mount out of the original damaged tube and used a section of Semroc for the replacement. Everything else is from the kit.
Then there is a scratch built Estes Screamer clone followed by a scratch built Estes Astron Beta clone. I am building this one for my wife as it was the first rocket she built as a teen. Sad you cant source the recommended (S) engines for the Beta. Hopefully the weather cooperates to where I can get some paint on these soon. The Centuri Payloader will be painted gold as in the catalog. I am trying to source the decals for this so if anyone has a set or could print a set let me know. Doesn't the Beta take 13 mm engines? Are you saying those are not available anymore?

I have not been able to find any "1/2A3-0T , A10-0T or A3-0T " for the booster.

I have some A10-0T's (and maybe some A3's as well). I would be surprised if you can't still get them. If not locally, try online. Failing that, I'm sure other guys here have a stash, so if you ever go to rocketry meets or have a club nearby, that's probably another source.

Joe thank you for the info - I did find some online after reading your post - all this time I had been entering a o instead of a zero . I will chalk that mistake up to being old and half blind.

All three look good so far.
Launching time will come soon enough! I always wanted a Beta. Well, I actually got one as a bonus free kit in like 1971, when I was just starting out, and did a terrible job on it. Back then it used "S" shorty motors.

Nice job on the beta! That was one of my childhood fleet, so I have a soft spot for it. Look forward to seeing it all painted.

Estes brought back both the A8-0 and A10-0 a few years ago. As far as I know they are still in production, so you should still be able to get the A10-0 for your Beta.

The 1/2A-0T and A3-0T were discontinued in 1982 and the A10-0T in 1999, but as noted above the A10-0T was recently made available again.
