New Plan -- Falconaire
Similar to the Spectral Queen design, this is also a cluster of 13mm motors, separated from each other, but without the complex ducting through pylons. Again, I use a nose cone as a boattail. The motor tubes are mounted through the cone.
Performance looks great in RocSim... Length: 28.55" Diameter: 1.34" (ST-13) Fin Span: 6.37" Weight: 1.86 oz (empty) (2) A3-4T.....385'.....3 FPS Enjoy!

Length: 12.75" Diameter: 0.759" Fin span: 2.89" Weight: 0.5 oz 1/4A3-3T.....115'.....18 FPS 1/2A3-4T.....280'.....14 FPS A3-4T........600'.....15 FPS Enjoy!

New Plan -- 1.3X EAC Viper
I thought I heard someone mentioning out loud they were wanting to do an upscale of this one, so I decided to come up with a very simple version based on SEMROC ST-13 components...
One change I added to this version is an ejection charge baffle, located at the joint of the two body tubes. One non-simulated afterthought would be to glue a 1/4" or 5/16" hardwood dowel at the center of the baffle and tap the forward end with 2-56 threads; then attach the forward plate of the baffle in place with a matching nylon screw. This would allow for easier cleaning of the burnt particles that will accumulate inside. Length: 28.7" Diameter: 1.34" Fin Span: 6.84" Weight: 2.23 oz B4-4.....270'.....25 FPS B6-4.....270'.....20 FPS C6-5.....670'.....18 FPS Skill Level 1. Enjoy!

New Plan -- Swizzle Pick
A smaller derivative of the Swizzle Stick, based around SEMROC ST-10 components. Uses Apogee's 6mm tubing for the ring fins. The launch lug runs through one of the rings, so a 0.05" thick cardstock (or 1/16" thick balsa) standoff is needed (not simulated in the file).
Skill Level 1. Length: 23.2" Diameter: 1.04" Fin Span: 1.54" Weight: 2.14 oz Only two motors are recommended: A8-3.....155'.....20 FPS C6-3.....560'.....10 FPS Enjoy!

New Accessory -- Exploded diagram for Ejection Charge Baffle
I figured you might want to have this diagram handy if you decide to build the 1.3X EAC Viper design. It might also come in handy if you want to duplicate this idea in other models. Consider this not so much as a final-form design, but as a pattern for how to do something similar in other body tube sizes...
Size shown is for the ST-13 tube... Be sure to look carefully at the "End View" to see how the inside tubes mesh together. The length of the gas passages causes them to overlap, meaning the gasses have to "zig-zag" around two tight corners to make it through. The hot particles can't move like this...

That looks good but it looks way too long for scale. Hang on and let me do some figuring... ST-13 is 1.34" OD Original Viper is .976 OD Scale factor is 1.373X Length of original Viper is 13.875 so the 1.373X version should only be about 19 inches. |

And now, here's a simplified version that only uses a single main body tube instead of two smaller tubes...
