What is "Super C" I found some C5-0S at a Hobby Shop and the owner could not tell me what the "Super" was for..

It was a sales gimmick, like "Super Heavy Duty" for crappy carbon zinc batteries.
They have a higher initial thrust than normal C6 motors and then they have a very low and long sustaining thrust. Total impulse was about .5 Newton-seconds more than a C6 motor. http://nar.org/SandT/pdf/Estes/C5.pdf Estes and Centuri motors were identical and made on the same machines in Penrose CO.

In Kenosha, WI. He is closing and selling Super C5-0S 3 packs for $1. I bought all of them, and all his Centuri A8-0. All Estes are $3 a pack. All rocket kits %40 off... l'll be going back soon...

That's a great "score."
You won't be able to use the C5-0S at most NAR-insured launches, because they're long out of certification, but if you have your own field you can use them to get models like a Farside clone off the pad.

They will also lift a 1/100 scale Estes/Centuri Saturn 1B for small field applications where a D12 is too much.

INCORRECT.
You can easily use them at an NAR launch by following the simple steps to get approval to test them under the expired motor test program. http://www.nar.org/pdf/Expired%20Mo...rocedures.p df Quote:

You need to get a waiver for oop motors from Ted Cochran if you want to fly at a club launch.
