Default Vintage Estes Little John

Next build is the Little John. Looking through the catalog, I have a few more of these mini-brutes before moving on. I have the Beta and Mini Bomarc after this. This kit is easy to clone minus the plastic nose cone. The Estes Mini Max has the exact same nose cone except for it is balsa.

Little John is ready for fin fillets and 3 coats of balsa sealer. Engine in mounted and rubber shock cord is attached. I like these little stands that come with these kits.

I have been real busy lately, but finally found some time to paint my Honest John. I used Tamiya Olive Spray paint. Now I will wait for it to dry and spray Glosscote then apply the original decals. Then hit the rocket with dullcote. In the background are some other projects I have completed. The Spitfire is an original Comet Balsa kit and the C-3PO is an old 1977 MPC plastic kit.

Convert C3PO to fly on mini-motors.

Another vintage Estes kit all done. I sprayed the rocket with glosscote, applied the decals and shot dullcote. The decals are a little thick as you can tell from the pictures.
